FULTON, MS - The Indians (11-5, 6-0 MACJC North) picked up a 107-103 double overtime victory over East Mississippi (10-4, 2-2 MACJC North) highlighted by a 25-point, 8-assists effort from sophomore point guard Alex Anderson (Memphis, TN).

A questionable call in the final seconds of the first overtime put the victory in doubt when the Lions went to the line for a double bonus free throw opportunity down 93-92. EMCC knocked down the first of two free throws, but missed the second to allow the game to go to the second overtime.

"Those type situations are just part of basketball," said Coach Grant Pate. "It's more about your mental strength than it is physical strength to be able to shake off something like that to find a way to win. I'm extremely proud of how the guys found a way to against an outstanding basketball team."

In the final seconds of the second overtime, Lakee Westbrook (Shannon) and Austin Timms (Mooreville) combined to hit five-straight free throws to give the Indians the four-point victory.

Tory Rice (Starkville) and Tyrone Wooten (Memphis, TN) each had double-doubles on the night with Rice scoring 18 points and collecting 11 boards and Wooten adding 12 points and 10 rebounds while Westbrook and Johnthan McGee (Jackson) each had 16 in the win.
