FULTON, MS – Dee Gates (Baldwyn) entered his freshman season at ICC with a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove coming off a season-ending knee injury during his senior year at Baldwyn.

Thursday night the back-up point guard reminded everyone he's still got it scoring a season-high 25 points in the Indians' 96-92 win over the Holmes Community College Bulldogs.

Gates came off the bench to hit 7-of-7 from the floor, including going 3-for-3 from three and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe.

"I want to help the team in any way possible each time I'm on the floor," said Gates. "My shots were falling because my teammates did a great job getting me the ball in open situations and had faith in me being able to knock down the shots."

Johnthan McGee (Jackson) added 13 points and 6 assists while fellow sophomore Alex Anderson (Memphis, TN) had 11 points and also dished out 6 assists in the win.

"I felt like our guard play was the best we've had all season," said ICC head coach Grant Pate. "They played unselfishly, did a great job of moving without the basketball to get good looking shots, and also played very smart knowing when to make the extra pass to get everyone else involved."

Sophomore center Tory Rice (Starkville) had his fourth double-double of the season scoring 12 points and collecting 11 rebounds to help the Indians improve to 9-5 and 4-0 in division play.

Rodriques Palmer led Holmes with 19 points while four other Bulldogs scored in double figures in the loss.
