TUSCALOOSA, AL -- After winning their first two games on a pair of buzzer beaters, the ICC Indians saw their final shot against Shelton State Community College go off the back iron in a 91-90 loss on Tuesday.

"There were points in the game where the guys could have easily given up, but instead they rallied around each other to keep digging and come up with a chance to win the game late," said Coach Grant Pate.

Alex Anderson (Memphis, TN) tied the game 90-90 with a deep three with 22.7 left in the game. The Indians (2-1, 0-0 MACJC North) were whistled with a hand check foul with 9.2 left and Shelton (4-0) converted on the tail end of the two shot opportunity.

The Indians got off a contested deep two-pointer at the buzzer, but could not win their third-straight on the final shot of the game.

"I'm extremely pleased with the level of play we've gotten out of the guys these past three games," said Pate. "They are still coming together as a group, but are giving everything they have for 40 minutes and that's what has been a key for us to be able to compete against the tough level of competition that we've faced so far this season."

Johnthan McGee (Raymond) scored a game-high 25 while Tyrone Wooten (Memphis, TN) came off the bench to score 20 with Anderson adding 12 points in the loss.

The Indians will look to rebound when they travel to Jones County Junior College on Thursday.
