FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College head basketball coach Grant Pate announced the signing of Shannon High School standouts Lakee Westbrook and Lamarcus Doss on Tuesday.

"These guys have meant a lot [to our program]," said Shannon head coach Cedric Brim. "I've had them since they were in the ninth grade and ever since we've had them they've always been willing to work hard… we've had a lot of success with them. It's a big loss for us seeing them go, but I know they are heading to ICC to do bigger and better things."

Westbrook, a shooting guard, averaged 20 points per game while Doss, a guard, added 11.8 points per game to help the Red Raiders finish 22-9 and second in Region 1-4A before being eliminated from the playoffs in the second round of the Class 4A North State tournament.

"This is a great opportunity for me to showcase my skills and become a better player," Westbrook said. "The coaches do a great job [at ICC] and it's a great atmosphere to be a part of."

During their junior season, Westbrook averaged 15.6 points per game with Doss chipping in 9.9 points per game as Shannon earned a second place finish in Region 1-4A regular season play, won the region tournament and advanced to the Class 4A North State semifinals.

"Playing college basketball is something I've always dreamed of and I'm happy to have the opportunity [to play at ICC]," said Doss. "I want to come in and do everything I can and what the coaches need to help the team."
