Indians upset No. 20 Shelton State in Fulton

ICC got a game-high 23 points from redshirt freshman Anthony McDonald as the Indians upset No. 20 Shelton State on Monday night.

McDonald hit 13-of-14 from the free throw line, including going six-for-six in the final two minutes of the game to help the Indians pick up their second win of the season.

"Anthony gave us a big push after Deontaye (Ewing) went down with an ankle injury," said ICC head coach Marty Cooper. "He and Qunitin both had to play a lot more minutes down the stretch and they came through for us."

Tre Wells and Quintin Lee each scored 14 points for the Indians (2-5) while Kwame Beard paced the previously unbeaten Bucs (5-1) with 21 points.

"It was a real team effort," said Cooper. "I thought everyone that came in gave us a great effort and played the best second half that we've played all year."

The Indians will open MACJC North play Thursday against Coahoma at 7:30 p.m.
