FULTON, Miss. - To cap one of the most exciting times of the year at ICC, the Indians captured their first win of the season in a dominant 29-0 victory over Mississippi Delta.

After stopping a fake punt attempt on Delta's first offensive drive, the Indians set the tone early when running back Charleston French (Amory) ran through the Trojans for a 13-yard touchdown. Luke Jackson (Bensalem, PA) connected on a 42-yard field goal to make it a 10-0 game. Traylon Oliver (Olive Branch) put the Indians up 16-0 after an 11-yard run to end a drive that was set up with great field position after the Indians' defense forced a turnover on downs.

French finished the night with a career-high 117 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21 carries. He also added a catch for four yards.

French added a 3-yard run to push the Indians' lead out to 26-0 before Jackson drilled a 33-yard field goal in the closing moments of the first half. The Indians' lone points in the second half came on a 29-yard field goal by Jackson in the third quarter.

The ICC defensive unit had a stellar night with a shutout highlighted by four takeaways. Zae Dilworth (Nettleton) had two interceptions while Ty Cohran (Oxford) and Jayden Walker (Aberdeen) each had a fumble recovery.

The Indians will be back in action on Thursday, October 12 when they travel to Goodman to take on the Homes Bulldogs. The Davis Ford Pregame Show starts at 6 p.m. on LetsGoICCTV.com/red and the First American National Bank opening kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on SuperTalk 101.9 FM.
