FULTON, Miss. - The Indians once again couldn't find their footing in a 38-13 loss to 12th ranked division rival Northwest Thursday night at Eaton Field in Fulton.

After going down 7-0 early in the first quarter, the ICC defense had a big takeaway when the Rangers coughed up the football, and defensive lineman JD Methvin (Starkville) fell on top of it. A few plays later, quarterback Keegan Stover (Rabun County, Ga.) connected with receiver TJ Atkins (Ritter Prep, Mo.) for a 13-yard touchdown to even the score.

It wasn't until after the Rangers scored three more touchdowns when the Indians found the endzone again. EJ Wadley (Oxford) returned an interception for a 50-yard touchdown, but the point-after attempt was blocked by Northwest.

Stover went 11-for-22 with 87 yards through the air. On the ground, running back Charleston French (Amory) had 68 yards rushing on 15 carries with his longest run, a 23-yard gain.

Defensively, linebacker Jayden Walker (Aberdeen) led ICC with 10 tackles on the night along with a sack for a three-yard loss. Methvin added another fumble recovery to the stat sheet, and linebacker Dontavious Allen (Horn Lake) had a sack of his own.

The Indians will be back in action on Thursday, October 5, for homecoming against the Mississippi Delta Trojans at Eaton Field. The Davis Ford Pregame Show starts at 6:30 p.m. on LetsGoICCTV.com/red and the First American National Bank opening kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on SuperTalk 101.9 FM.
