Indians lose heartbreaker to rival Northeast on the road

BOONEVILLE, Miss. — The ICC Indians fell to 0-3 after a heartbreaking loss to rival Northeast, 20-14, on the road in Booneville Thursday night.

Despite two big defensive touchdowns, a 40-yard fumble recovery return by freshman linebacker Jaiyden Thompson and an 82-yard interception return by freshman defensive back Dylan Rowsey, the Indians couldn't get things rolling on offense.

Thompson had 15 tackles and a sack. Rowsey added six tackles, two interceptions and a pass break-up.

Freshman running back Charleston French had 97 yards rushing off 20 carries, an average of 4.9 yards per gain, and sophomore wide receiver AJ Smith, six catches for 120 yards with an average of 20 yards per gain. Ty Davis was 10-of-28 passing for 140 yards and three interceptions.
     
The Indians will be back home on Thursday, September 28, in another MACCC North Division matchup against the Northwest Rangers at Eaton Field.
