Nick Smith named MACJC Defensive Player of the Week

Fulton, Miss. - Itawamba Community College football's Nick Smith was named Defensive Player of the Week by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Tuesday for his performance in the Indians' 22-21 upset victory over No. 2 Northwest Mississippi Community College.

The 6'0, 220 pound linebacker from Cleveland picked up 13 total tackles with eight solo and five assists, two quarterback sacks and two and a half tackles for loss which pushed back the Rangers 24 yards.

Smith finished the season second on the team with 79 tackles, nine and a half tackles for loss and three and a half quarterback sacks.

The Indians ended the season with a 5-4 record, tied for first place in the North Division.
