Ellington selected MACJC Offensive Player of the Week

FULTON, Miss. – Sophomore quarterback Dan Ellington has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against No. 1 East Mississippi Community College.

The Olive Branch native threw for 494 yards and two touchdowns on 41 of 59 passing while rushing for 57 yards and another touchdown on 18 carries in the Indians' 48-24 loss in Scooba.

Ellington currently leads the league and is second in the country with 371.0 passing yards per game and 1,484 total yards passing. He leads the MACJC and is tied for 11 in the country with 8 touchdown passes while leading the league in attempts (190) and completions (121), efforts that are good for third best in the country.

The University of Central Arkansas commit is eligible for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Player of the Week honors.

The Indians (1-3, 1-1 MACJC North) will step out of division play to host Pearl River Community College (2-2, 1-1 MACJC South) Thursday for Military Appreciation Night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
