FULTON, MS – Ripley natives Dorian Gaston and Isaiah Howard have signed national letters of intent to continue their careers as student-athletes with the Lamar University football program next season.

Gaston finished his two years at ICC with 63 catches for 1,024 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a freshman, he caught 19 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Last season, Gaston hauled in 44 catches for 793 yards and nine scores.

Howard caught 59 passes for 739 yards and four touchdowns in two seasons with the Indians. He made 23 catches for 340 yards and two scored as a freshman. Last season, he caught 35 passes for 399 yards and two touchdowns. Howard picked the Cardinals over offers from Bethune-Cookman and Middle Tennessee State.

Both Gaston and Howard committed to the Cardinals on January 21.

Lamar finished 3-8 with a 3-6 record inside Southland Conference play. The Cardinals will be under the direction of first-year head coach Mike Schultz next season.

The duo joins nine other Indians that have signed to continue their careers next season: Abraham Austin (Northeastern State); Lee Autry (Mississippi State); Peyton Bender (Kansas); Deon Knox (Arkansas-Monticello); Jadarius Little (Jackson State); Brennon McCormick (Mississippi College); DqMarcus Shaw (East Carolina); Matthew Stewart (Alcorn State); and Kenney Wooten (Murray State).
