Two former Indians earn All-GSC honors

FULTON, MS – Two former Itawamba Community College football standouts were named First Team All-Gulf South Conference on Wednesday.
University of North Alabama linebacker C.J. Jackson was a unanimous selection and Delta State University's defensive lineman Randall Boyd earned first team honors for the second consecutive season.
Jackson, who finished as the Indians leading tackler in 2013, led the playoff bound Lions with 66 tackles during his senior season and picked up four tackles for loss, one quarterback sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 10 games. In his junior season, the 6'1 linebacker from Water Valley was the Lions second leading tackler with 55 total tackles.
During his time at ICC, Jackson led the Indians with 70 tackles in 2013 and was second in his freshman campaign with 72. He finished with 142 total tackles and 48.5 tackles for loss.
This year's first team selection is just another addition of a lengthy list of honors for Boyd, who just wrapped up his senior season at Delta State. The 6'0 defensive end from Forest, MS picked up a 38 tackles this season with 16 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks while forcing one fumble, blocking three kicks and recovering one fumble.
During his time at Delta State, Boyd has been named Daktronics All-Super Region II First Team and BSN All-Super Region II First Team in 2014 to go along with back-to-back years of All-GSC First Team honors. He recorded 88 tackles in 22 games for the Statesmen.
While at ICC, Boyd had 76 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and three quarterback sacks.
Jackson and Boyd helped the Indians earn playoff appearances in 2012 and 13.
