FULTON, MS – The Itawamba Community College football program is headed to playoffs for the first time since 2013 after a decision by the MACJC on Friday.
On Friday, the MACJC announced that East Mississippi Community College is not eligible to participate in the MACJC playoffs after an altercation with Mississippi Delta Community College Thursday night due to the NJCAA ejection policy.
The Indians (6-2, 4-2 MACJC North) originally finished third in the division just missing the playoffs, but now move into the vacant playoff spot and will now travel to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Saturday October 31 with time to be announced.
Before playoffs begin, the Indians will get a good look at their first round opponent as they face Mississippi Gulf Coast Saturday, October 24 at 3:30 pm.
The last playoff appearance for ICC was in 2013 against Jones County Junior College.
Northwest Mississippi Community College will now host East Central Community College in the first round.
