FULTON, MS – Sophomores Sharone Wright (Houston), Jeb Millender (Pontotoc) and Anfernee Brand (Houston) have all been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Wright carries a 3.47 GPA and is a Sports Management major. He started in all nine games for the Indians and recorded 27 tackles (22 solo; 5 assists) with three fumble recoveries returned for a total of 61 yards and was named the 2014 Benny Abram LEGACY award recipient.

Millender has a 3.87 GPA in Engineering. He was named NJCAA All-Region 23 punter after leading the nation in punts downed inside the 20 for the second-straight season. He started in all nine games this season and averaged 41.5 yards on 55 punts this season.

Brand holds a 3.70 GPA and is a Physical Education major. He rushed for 100 yards and 1 touchdown on 24 carries this season.

All three players are eligible for Capital One Academic All-America honors.

ICC's three all-district selections is a school record, having two picks last season. The Indians' three picks led all MACJC schools and the second most selections in District One, which represents NAIA colleges and community college across 23 states.

Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.

CoSIDA's 1800 members in the United State and Canada nominate players for Capital One Academic All-America recognition. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, and be a starter or key reserve on his or her team. CoSIDA members vote on the all-district teams; then a national panel selects the Academic All-America squads from all first-team all-district choices.
