Indians playoff bid comes up short in loss to Northwest

ICC dropped a 45-7 decision to a red-hot Northwest Community College on Thursday dashing the Indians hopes at an appearance in postseason play.

The lone touchdown for the Indians came on a six-yard pass from sophomore Canden Dallas to fellow sophomore Erik Buchanan midway through the fourth quarter. Will Goodwin added the extra point.

Dallas passed for 114 yards on 11-of-29 passing with one interception while Buchanan hauled in a season-high six passes for 67 yards. Keon McGaughy rushed for 54 yards on 15 carries as the Indians were limited to 62 yards rushing on the night.

"I'm proud of our guys," said ICC head football coach Jon Williams. "There was a point in the season where they very easily could have given up, but instead they showed everyone what it means to be a student-athlete at ICC with the heart, desire, and determination to turn the season around to have a shot at making the playoffs."

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Indians.

The Indians finished in a three-way tie for second place in the MACJC North and out of postseason play due to tiebreaker rules for the second-straight season.

The season finale wrapped up the two-year career for 19 sophomores on the Indians' roster.

"These sophomores mean a lot to our program," said Williams. "They were freshman in my first season as the head coach and laid a great foundation for us to be able to build towards great things in the future."
