Indians swept by No. 13 Jones in season finale

FULTON, Miss. – The Indians dropped a pair of games in Saturday's doubleheader against No. 13 Jones to close the season.

Game 1: No. 13 Jones 14, Indians 2

The Bobcats used a six-run third inning to take game one over ICC, 14-2.

The Indians opened the scoring in the first after Ben Davis grounded out, allowing Jaxin Settlemires to score. Jones tied the game in the top of the second and added six runs in the top of the third to take a 7-1 lead.

In the bottom of the third, the Indians got a run back after Jude Treadaway scored on a passed ball. The Bobcats went on to score seven unanswered runs enroute to the game one win.

Davis finished with a hit and an RBI while Stone Collier and Treadaway each added a hit.

Bryce Glenn was the pitcher of record for ICC, giving up six runs on three hits while collecting two strikeouts.

Game 2: No. 13 Jones 3, Indians 2 (8 innings)

The Indians fell just short as they dropped game two against No. 13 Jones, 3-2, in eight innings.

The Bobcats struck first in the top of the second with a two-run home run. ICC answered in the bottom of the sixth when Luke Wood scored on an error and Hayden Roberts, on a passed ball to tie the game, 2-2.

In the eighth inning, Jones took the lead after plating a run enroute to the win.

Bo Rock and Wood each finished with a hit.

Ben Davis was the pitcher of record for the Indians, surrendering three runs on 11 hits while striking out five batters.

The Indians finished the season with a 17-29 overall record while going 9-19 in conference play.
