Indians sweep Coahoma in Clarksdale

CLARKSDALE, Miss – The Indians picked up a pair of conference road wins over Coahoma on Tuesday.

Game 1: Indians 7, Coahoma 1

The Indians exploded for five runs in the top of the eighth inning to pull away for a 7-1 win in game one.

Jackson Lee scored on a ground out by Ty Wicker to give the Indians a 1-0 advantage in the top of the second inning. The Tigers pulled even on a ground out in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Indians got rolling in the eighth when Bo Rock scored on a sacrifice fly by Wicker. Brock Ware drove in Jarrett Morris on a two-out double to right. Ware scored on a passed ball before Treadaway and Hayden Roberts would score on a pair of errors in the inning.

Luke Woods added an insurance run in the ninth with a single to center that scored Rock.

Rock had two hits while Ware and Stone Collier each added a double to the Indians' nine hits in the win.

Dixon Webb picked up the win after giving up one run, unearned, on four hits and two walks while striking out six in eight innings.

Game 2: Indians 3, Coahoma 2

Trailing 2-0, the Indians got on the board when Treadaway scored on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth.

Jackson Lee and Collier would score on back-to-back bases-loaded walks in the top of the seventh to pick up the win. The Tigers drew a walk to put the tying run on base in the bottom half of the inning but Indians shut down the rally with a line out to center, a pop fly to left and a pop out to second.

Collier had two of the Indians' eight hits in the win.

Rock picked up the win after relieving Matt Bourdon in the fifth. Rock walked one and didn't give up a hit in 1.2 scoreless innings.

The Indians will travel to nationally-ranked Pearl River on Saturday.
