Indians drop a pair of games at No. 5 Pearl River

POPLARVILLE, Miss. – The Indians ran into a red-hot Pearl River squad and dropped a pair of conference games on Saturday.

Game 1: No. 5 Pearl River 12, Indians 3 (8 innings)

The game started as expected when two traditional powers collide.

Jude Treadaway hit a home run to right in the top of the first and No. 5 Pearl River answered with a solo shot to center in the bottom half of the inning.

The Indians took a 3-1 lead when Jarrett Morris scored on a single by Hayden Roberts and Dre McCray scored on a single by Jaxin Settlemires in the second.

The Wildcats would score 11-unanswered runs to pick up the win.

Treadaway finished the game with three hits while Settlemires, Morris and Roberts each added a pair of hits to the Indians' 13 total hits in the game.

Ethan Huff was the pitcher of record after giving up four runs on three hits and six walks while striking out four in three innings.

Game 2: No. 5 Pearl River 18 Indians 1

The No. 5 Wildcats scored 11 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to complete the sweep of the Indians with an 18-1 win in game two.

The Indians lone run came on a solo home run by Stone Collier in the fourth.

ICC will look to rebound when they host rival Northeast on Wednesday.
