Indians fall to Holmes and Pearl River in non-conference

Goodman, Miss. – After connecting on a season-high 16 hits, the Indians' bats betrayed them in non-conference losses to Holmes and Pearl River on Tuesday.

Game 1: Holmes 3, Indians 1

Trailing 2-0 after two complete, the Indians made it a one-run game when Ben Davis reached on an error to score Jackson Lee. The Bulldogs answered with a solo home run in bottom half of the inning and kept the Indians bats quiet to pick up the 3-1 victory.

Brayden Billingsley was the pitcher of record after giving up three runs, one earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out four in the complete game effort.

Lee, Dre McCray and Jarrett Morris each had a single in the loss.

Game 2: No. 3 Pearl River 6, Indians 1

The No. 3 Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Indians could scratch across a run when Jude Treadaway hit into a fielder's choice to score Jarrett Morris in the bottom of the second.

Pearl River added two in the fourth and one in the fifth to pick up the 6-1 victory.

The Indians could only manage four hits in the loss. Morris and Ty Wicker each had a double while Treadaway and Bo Rock reach had a single.   

ICC will be back in action when they host Snead State on Saturday.
