Fulton, Miss. – After a one year absence, Itawamba Community College baseball has advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Championship Tournament that is scheduled to begin May 15.

"We've had a great year, we've got a really good team, and I'm so proud of these guys for getting us back into regionals," said Head Coach Rick Collier. "It's the best teams from Mississippi and Louisiana and it's possible that the national champion will come out of this tournament."

The tournament is being hosted by LSU Eunice in Eunice, La. and will feature five national ranked teams in a six team double elimination format.

The No. 15 Indians will close out the first day of the tournament when they face No. 11 East Central Community College at 7 p.m.

Opening the tournament will be No. 5 Meridian Community College vs No. 3 Pearl River Community College at noon, followed by No. 1 LSU Eunice and Northeast Mississippi Community College at 3:30 p.m.
