Indians sweep Coahoma

Fulton, Miss. – ICC picked up a big conference sweep over Coahoma Wednesday winning game one, 10-0, and taking game two 12-1.

Game 1: Indians 10, Tigers 0 (5-innings)

The Indians (16-18, 10-12 MACCC) got standout performance on the mound with Brady Davis (Hamilton) striking out six and holding the Tigers to no hits in the run-rule five inning victory.

An eight-run fourth inning propelled the Indians to the run-rule win after scoing a run in both the first and third frames.

Riley Davis (Collierville, Tenn.) and Matthew Martinolich (Ellisville) led the Indians' offense gathering multiple hits, Davis with three and Martinolich with two.

Blaine Ware (Batesville) picked up three RBI in the game and hit his fourth home run of the year. Riley Davis had two RBI on the day as well, and Eli Hancock (Houston picked up a pair of RBI on a double.

Game 2: Indians 12, Tigers 1 (5-innings)

The Indian offense picked up where they left off in game two scoring three runs in the first, two in the second, four in the third and three in the fourth to pick up the 12-1 run-rule win and the sweep.

Riley Davis led the offense charge going driving in four runs on two hits and Martinolich was a perfect 4-for-4 in the contest.

Bryce Capobianco drove in three runs as well, and Connar Gardner (Southaven) went 2-for-2 with two RBI.

On the mound, Roe Ketchum picked up his fourth win of the season as he threw four shutout, not hit innings with five strikeouts.

Next up for the Indians is another conference doubleheader when they host Mississippi Gulf Coast Saturday. It will be Sophomore Day with recognition being help prior to game one and first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m.
