FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College standout centerfielder Jackson Lancaster has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his career at the University of Missouri next season.
"It means a lot to me and is a dream come true to be able to play in the SEC," Lancaster said.
The Corinth native was a big producer for the No. 2 Indians' offense, leading the team in hits (69), triples (5), RBI (47), stolen bases (17), batting average (.369), on-base percentage (.460), slugging percentage (.572) and total bases (107).
"Jackson is a great ballplayer," said ICC head coach Rick Collier. "He has developed and worked really hard to get better. I wish I had him for two more years, but he's worked hard for this, and we're proud of him."
Lancaster tied for second on the team with 13 doubles and five home runs, and he also stood out on the mound for the Indians in relief. He finished with a 1-1 record last season and picked up three saves while striking out 47 in 26 and two thirds innings, and allowing only 14 hits.

The southpaw had a team-best 15.86 strikeouts per nine innings and had a team-best 2.36 ERA. One of the biggest strikeouts of the season was the final out of the 5-2 win over Mississippi Delta to clinch the 2019 MACJC Championship.
Lancaster had a .990 fielding percentage and recorded 97 putouts and four assists in his 50 games played.
The 6'0 190 pounder helped the Indians to a 41-8-1 record, conference title and a berth in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament. He wrapped up his career at ICC hitting .600 (12-for-20) against top nationally-ranked teams in regionals.
"I wouldn't trade this time at ICC for anything," said Lancaster. "This is the best JUCO around, and I'm thankful for Coach Collier and Coach Earnest for believing in me."
During his freshman campaign, Lancaster hit .348 with 47 hits, 17 RBI, seven doubles and eight stolen bases while helping the Indians to a regional tournament berth.
Lancaster will join the Tiger squad which finished 34-22-1 this season, and is the first Indian to sign with the program.
