Lancaster named MACJC Baseball Player of the Week

FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College sophomore outfielder Jackson Lancaster was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Baseball Player of the Week in a league announcement Tuesday.

The Corinth native helped the Indians (2-0) earn an opening day sweep of Snead State (Ala.) Community College Saturday going 6-of-7 (.857 batting average) from the plate while driving in two runs and hitting a pair of doubles.

Lancaster went 3-for-3 in the 3-2 game one win with a double, two RBI and a walk and 3-for-4 with a double in the 8-4 game two victory. He was perfect in the field, recording five putouts on five opportunities in centerfield.

The Indians will host Rend Lake (Ill.) College Saturday (Feb. 16) with first pitch set for 1 p.m. in Fulton.
