Wallace, Houston sign with Blue Mountain baseball

FULTON, Miss. – Drake Wallace and Klay Houston will be joining the baseball program at Blue Mountain College next season.

Wallace, a two-sport standout from Amory, batted .296 on the year with four doubles, two triples, and a pair of home runs. He totaled 28 RBI and 21 runs scored with 36 hits in 123 at-bats. The right fielder finished his career with a .302 batting average, .365 on-base percentage and a .430 slugging percentage. He recorded 22 tackles (13 solo; 9 assists) with one tackle for a loss as a linebacker for the Indians football team this past season.

Houston, a right-handed pitcher from Fulton, saw limited action due to an injury early in the season. He finished his final year with four strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. He has a 3-1 record and a 5.40 ERA for his career as an Indian.

The Indians (33-17) advance to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tournament for the first time since 2012 and earn the program's highest-ever ranking at No. 2 in March. 

Wallace and Houston will join Indian pitcher Witt Roaton, who signed with BMC in November, as a Topper next season.
