Five Indians earn MACJC All-State baseball honors

FULTON, Miss. – Five players from the ICC baseball team have been named to the 2018 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) All-State teams.

Sophomore catcher Hunter Nabors selected to the first-team.

The Montevallo, Ala. native was second on the team with a .353 batting average. He had 48 hits with seven going for doubles and was tied for a team-high six home runs in 136 at-bats. He finished the year with 31 runs, 28 RBI, .486 on-base percentage and .537 slugging percentage.

Infielder and pitcher Kyle Crigger (Corinth); pitcher Houston Harding (Walls); pitcher Hunter Hughes (Saltillo); and outfielder LaBryant Siddell (Tupelo) were named to the second-team.

Crigger led the Indians with a .361 batting average. He had a team-high 65 hits with nine doubles, five home runs, one triple to go along with his team-best 39 runs scored and 26 RBI in 180 at-bats. On the hill, the freshman was 3-2 with 5 saves and finished the year with 28 strikeouts, 11 walks and a 2.83 ERA in 35.0 innings pitched.

Harding finished his freshman campaign with a team-high nine wins and three loses and a 4.42 ERA. He struck out a team-best 95 and walked 32 in 79.1 innings of work.

Hughes was a perfect 6-0 on the year and finished with a 4.28 ERA. The freshman struck out 50 and walked 20 in 54.2 innings.

Siddell batted .348 with 47 hits with 10 doubles, two triples and tied for a team-best six home runs. The freshman drove in a 29 runs and scored 28 more in 135 at-bats. He had a .486 on-base percentage and a team-high .585 slugging percentage.

ICC finished 33-17 on the year and advanced to the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament. In March, the Indians earned the program's highest ranking at No. 2 in the country after not being ranked in the preseason poll.
