Indians fall in regular season finale to Hinds

RAYMOND, Miss. – After dropping game one to Hinds, the Indians were unable to get their bats going in game two and dropped a 5-1 decision.

The Indians (30-14, 16-12) took an early lead over the Eagles as Drake Wallace(Amory) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Hinds would answer in the bottom of the fourth with back-to-back solo home runs to take a 2-1 lead, then added a pair of runs in the following frame on a two singles, and added a run on a sixth inning double.

Connor Lewis(Corinth) led the Indians offensively as he went 2-for-3. Kyle Crigger(Corinth) and Hunter Nabors(Montevallo, Ala.) picked up the Indians other two hits in the game.

The Indians will battle East Central in the best-of-three regional playoff series in Decatur. Game one is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. and game two Friday at 2:30 p.m. If needed, game three will be played following game two Friday.
