Indians 12 hits not enough to secure win over Hinds

RAYMOND, Miss. – The Indians rattled off 12 hits in game one of the final doubleheader of the regular season, but Hinds powered past the tribe to pick up a 15-7 victory in seven innings.

The Indians (30-13, 16-11) had four players pick up multiple hits led by a 3-for-3 performance by Justin Medlin (Ripley) who had a triple and a pair of doubles. Medlin also picked up an RBI and scored a run.

Russell Bunch (Saltillo) and Connor Lewis(Corinth) both went 2-for-3 two had a double in the contest. Drake Wallace(Amory) added two hits and picked up an RBI.

The Indians took advantage of three Hinds errors to pull within one run twice including a Jackson Lancaster(Corinth) two run scoring single in the sixth that cut the Eagles lead to 8-7. However, the Eagles scored seven runs over the next two frames to pick up the 15-7 run-rule victory.

A win would have kept the Indians hopes of hosting the best-of-three regional playoff series that's set to begin Thursday, but the road loss means the tribe will hit the road.
