Indians hold off Co-Lin’s late rally to complete series sweep

WESSON, Miss. – Despite a four run seventh by Co-Lin, the Indians were able to complete the road sweep with a 9-5 game two victory.

Heading to the final frame, the Indians (28-12, 14-10) held a comfortable 9-1 lead, but things turned uncomfortable for Coach Rick Collier's squad as Co-Lin pushed across four runs to pull within striking distance. However, Kyle Crigger(Corinth) was able to come in and keep the Wolves at bay and secure the victory and the sweep for the Indians.

The Indians jumped out to an early lead scoring four runs in the first on a RBI single by LaBryant Siddell (Belden), a two run home run by Drew Thomas(Nesbit) and aJackson Lancaster(Corinth) steal of home.

Thomas added his third RBI of the day in the third on a single to left and the Indians extend their lead to 7-0 in the fourth as Hunter Nabors(Montevallo, Ala.) and Siddell drove in a pair of runs.

After Co-Lin plated their first run of the game in the fifth, Lancaster scored a wild pitch in the sixth and Justin Medlin(Ripley) driving in a run on a sacrifice fly.

With the sweep of Co-Lin, the Indians sit in sixth place in the MACJC standings, two games behind East Central. The Indians have four games remaining with a doubleheader at East Mississippi Wednesday and the regular season finale Saturday at Hinds.

First pitch for Wednesday's doubleheader in Scooba is set for 4 p.m.
