Indians complete the comeback to defeat Delta 6-3

MOORHEAD, Miss. – After falling behind early, the Indians scored six unanswered runs on their way to a 6-3 conference road win over Mississippi Delta Tuesday.

The Indians (26-11, 12-9), who will be road warriors the final two weeks of the season with four road dates, scattered 11 hits in the delta to score their six runs in the first game of their doubleheader.

Mississippi Delta scored three runs in the bottom of the second as the Indians committed two errors on the playing surface that was less than desirable form the weekend's rain.

The Indians answered with one run in the third off the bat of Jackson Lancaster(Corinth) but trailed 3-1 until the sixth.

Hunter Nabors(Montevallo, Ala.) doubled to score Lancaster, who doubled to start the sixth frame, and a sacrifice fly by Justin Medlin(Ripley) tied the game a three as LaBryant Siddell(Belden) scored from third.

Drake Wallace(Amory) made sure the game didn't stay tied long as he belted a 2-run home run to give the Indians a 5-3 lead.

In the eighth, Jacob Hall(Petal) added an insurance run with a solo home run while Hunter Hughes(Saltillo) took care of business on the hill to give the Indians the 6-3 come from behind victory.

Hughes threw a complete game where allowed three unearned runs on eight hits and struck out six to improve to 4-0 this season.
