No. 19 Indians hold on to defeat Southwest in game one

FULTON, Miss. – A three RBI performance by Hunter Nabors(Montevallo, Ala.) led the Indians to a 4-2 game one win over Southwest on Friday.

Nabors went 1-for-3 but his sacrifice fly in the first frame scored the game's first run and then his two run home run in the third gave the Indians an early advantage.

Justin Medlin(Ripley) added a solo home run to score the Indians fourth and final run in the sixth, but Southwest was going to go down quietly as they hit a pair of solo home runs of their own. However, the Indians (22-9, 8-7 MACJC) were able to remain in the lead as the two long balls by the Bears would be their only of the contest.

The Bears would finish the game with 11 hits, but good defensive plays by the Indians and six combined strikeouts by the Indians' pitching staff allowed the Tribe to pick up the victory.

Kris Peet(Olive Branch) picked up the win and Kyle Crigger(Corinth) earned the save.
