No. 11 Indians drop game one after five run third inning by No. 12 Jones

FULTON, Miss. – No. 12 Jones County scored five runs in the top of the third on their way to a 6-2 game one victory over the No. 11 Indians Sunday.

After two quick scoreless innings, the Bobcats plated five runs off five hits including a two run triple to take a 5-0 lead in the third.

The Indians (20-7, 6-5 MACJC) were able to cut the Bobcats' lead to three, 5-2, as Drake Wallace (Amory) reached on an error to allow Justin Medlin (Ripley) and Hunter Nabors (Montevallo, Ala) to score.

Sam Harrington(Mooreville) took over on the mound for the Indians in the top of the third and struck out the first batter he faced. Harrington then went on to pitch six and a third innings allowing only one hit while picking up four strikeouts.

The lone run allowed by Harrington was solo home run in the fifth and was the final run of the game.

Connor Lewis (Corinth) and Drew Thomas (Nesbit) picked up the two lone hits for the Indians in the 6-2 loss.
