Two run seventh gives No. 12 Jones a 3-1 win over the No. 11 Indians

FULTON, Miss. – A tight MACJC battled ended after a two run top of the seventh gave No. 12 Jones County a 3-1 win and the sweep over the No. 11 Indians.

The Indians (20-8, 6-6 MACJC) fell behind early as the visiting Bobcats scored a run in the opening frame on what appeared to be a foul ball down the third base line. However, the Indians would quickly tie the contest as Hayden Palmer(Tupelo) hit a solo home run to left center in the second.

Houston Harding(Walls) forced four straight three up, three down frames with help of his defense, but was unable to get any run support as the Indians left five runners in scoring position throughout the game.

The Bobcats took the lead in the top of the final inning off a double that scored two and put the game away as the Indians went down in order after a double play off a line drive ended the contest.

Hunter Nabors (Montevallo, Ala.) and Jacob Hall(Petal) led the Indians at the plate as Nabors went 2-for-3 with a double and Halls 2-for-3. Palmer drove in the lone Indians run on his solo home run.

The Indians will try to end their current three game skid Tuesday when they hit the road for a MACJC doubleheader with Northwest Mississippi Community College starting at 3 p.m. in Senatobia as
