No. 2 Indians fall to No. 18 Pearl River, 5-0

POPLARVILLE, Miss. – Shemar Page and No. 18 Pearl River Community College looked impressive in their 5-0 Game 1 win over the No. 2 Indians on Friday.

Page was lights out on the hill for the Wildcats (21-4, 8-0 MACJC) as he struck out 10 and scattered a pair of hits in seven scoreless innings of work to improve to 6-0 on the season. Colin Danley gave up one hit and struck out three to close the door on the Indians (19-4, 5-3 MACJC) in the final two innings of play.

Pearl River got on the board when Matt Taylor led off the bottom of the third with a solo home run to the short porch in left.

Bryson Medious pushed across a pair of runs in the fifth with a triple to the wall in center to make it 3-0 in favor the Wildcats. Medious and Simon Landry hit back-to-back solo home runs in the seventh.

The Indians only managed three hits in the loss. Kyle Crigger (Corinth) had a triple, LaBryant Siddell (Tupelo) singled to left and was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double and Jacob Hall (Petal) added a single to round out the Indians lackluster performance at the plate.

Houston Harding (Walls) allowed three runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking one to fall to 5-1 on the season.
