Holmes hands No. 5 Indians first MACJC loss

GOODMAN, Miss. – The Bulldogs had everything going their way in game two as they defeated the No.5 Indians 10-3.

After a hard fought and intense game one, the Indians (17-3, 3-1 MACJC) saw the Bulldogs take an early lead on a solo home run in the opening frame giving the game another intense atmosphere.

The atmosphere would quickly change as they Bulldogs plated five runs in the third off only three hits before added two additional runs in the next inning.

Holmes starting pitcher Jeff Crenshaw had all the run support he could want and kept the Indians off balance for most of the contest as he struck out 10 in seven innings of work.

The Indians were able to plate three runs in the fourth and fifth frames with Justin Medlin (Ripley) and Connor Lewis (Corinth) hitting RBI singles and Ray Sandroni (Tupelo) driving in a run when he reached on an error.

The lead was cut to five, 8-3, but the Bulldogs added two run in the sixth to pick up the 10-3 win.

Saturday the Indians will return to Roy Cresap Field for another tough MACJC doubleheader against Meridian. First pitch is schedule for 2 p.m.
