No. 5 Indians rally on the road to defeat Holmes 5-3

GOODMAN, Miss. – In their first MACJC road test, the No. 5 Indians rally to defeat Holmes 5-3 off key hits by Hunter Nabors (Montevallo, Ala.) and Russell Bunch (Saltillo).

Nabors, who went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, tied the game with a solo home run in the top of the seventh and added an insurance run on a RBI single in the eighth, while Bunch pushed across the game's winning run on an eighth inning hit pinch hit single.

The Indians (17-2, 3-0 MACJC) trailed the Bulldogs 2-0 after the first frame, but a Cason Milliorn (Olive Branch) single in the fourth cut the lead in half, 2-1.

Holmes would add what could have been an insurance run in the fourth, but a double by Connor Lewis (Corinth) cut the lead to one, 3-2, once again in the fifth.

The clutch hitting by the Indians late in the contest gave them a 5-3 win and gave Sam Harrington (Mooreville) his second win of the season as he threw three scoreless innings of relief.
