Baseball rebounds to win Game 2 at Snead State, 6-0

BOAZ, Ala. – The Indians bounced back in a big way after tasting the agony of defeat for the first time of the season with a 6-0 Game 2 win over Snead State (Ala.) Community College on Saturday.

Kyle Crigger (Corinth) got things started for the Indians (11-1) with a one-out single to right in the top of the first. Crigger advanced to third on a double by Justin Medlin (Ripley). Crigger and Medlin both scored on a two-out single to center by Jacob Hall (Petal) to give the Indians an early 2-0 lead over the Parsons (6-10).

Hall went 4-for-4 with a RBI to lead the Indians' red-hot bats in the victory.

Medlin singled to right and scored on a double to center by Drew Thomas (Nesbit) to give the Indians a 3-0 lead in the top of the third.

The Indians put the game away with three runs in the fourth inning. LaBryant Siddell (Tupelo) tripled to start the inning and scored when Jackson Lancaster (Corinth) reached on a throwing error. Crigger ripped a two-out single to right field that scored Lancaster from first and scored on a single to right by Medlin after stealing second.

Ausitn King picked up his third win of the season after allowing no runs on two hits with three strikeouts and no walks in five and a third innings of work.

The Indians chopped up 14 hits in the second game of the day. Hall, Medlin and Crigger all had multiple hits for the Indians with Thomas, Siddell and Ray Sandroni (Tupelo) each added a hit in the win.

ICC will host Calhoun (Ala.) Community College on Tuesday – weather pending.
