Indians rally to beat Snead State, 5-4

FULTON, Miss. – The Indians picked up a 5-4 come-from-behind win in its home opener against Snead State (Ala.) Community College on Friday.

Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth, the Indians (3-0) scored four runs to take a 4-3 lead. Cason Milliorn (Olive Branch) walked and scored on a single by Jackson Lancaster (Corinth) before Connor Lewis (Corinth) singled and scored on a double by Kyle Crigger (Corinth). Lancaster and Crigger scored on a single by Justin Medlin (Ripley) to take a one-run lead.

Snead State tied things up in the top of the seventh when a run scored on an error. The Indians answered in the bottom half of the inning after the Parsons elected to intentionally walk back-to-back batters to load the bases with one out before Lewis scored on a wild pitch to pick up the 5-4 victory in dramatic fashion.

Lewis was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored for the Indians.

Sam Harrington (Mooreville) entered in the third inning to pick up the win after striking out 2 batter in 2.1 innings of scoreless and hitless work. Braden Ellis (Saltillo) picked up his first save of the year after inducing a pair of route fly balls to right field to close the door on the Parsons rally in the bottom of the seventh.
