Payne continues baseball career at North Alabama

FULTON, MS – Itawamba Community College sophomore Jon Morgan Payne will continue his baseball career the University of North Alabama next season.
The right handed pitcher from Belmont appeared in 24 games during his two years at ICC and compiled an 11-6 record.
Last season, Payne finished with a 5-1 record over 11 appearances and allowed only 23 hits while striking out 40.
As a freshman, Payne struck out 52 batters over 62 innings of work and finished with a 6-5 record.
Over his career with the tribe, Payne struck out 92 batters over 93 and two thirds innings and finished with a 3.94 ERA.
Payne is the seventh Indian from last year's squad to move on to the next level and will join former ICC teammate Kaleb Barnes (Pontotoc) next season in Florence.
