FULTON, MS – For the second time this season, Itawamba Community College sophomore Tyreque Reed was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College (MACJC) Baseball Player of the Week.

The Houlka native helped the Indians (23-9, 10-6 MACJC) split the last week with two win at Southwest.

During the Indians, 2-2 week, Reed hit .733 going 11-for-15. Six of those eleven hits went for extra bases as he hit five doubles and one homerun. Reed also, scored seven times, picked up five RBI and swiped second once for a steal.

The 6'1, 260 pounder, who slits time at first base and right field, was walked three times last week, three of which were intentional and came in order against Northwest.

Reed will now be nominated for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Baseball Player of the Week, that will announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Indians, who currently sit in fourth in the league, continue their hunt for the playoffs Wednesday as they travel to Clarksdale for a conference doubleheader with Coahoma Community College.
