ELLISVILLE, MS – A lot of excitement surrounded Itawamba Community College's baseball doubleheader Saturday as it was a battle of two top ten teams as the No. 7 Indians faced No. 1 Jones County Junior College. Game one was a hitting battle, but the defending national champion Bobcats picked up the 12-7 win despite being out hit by the Indians.

The Indians (21-6, 8-3 MACJC) out hit the Bobcats 15-12, but were unable to get the timely hits to push across the much needed runs. After falling behind 3-0, the Indians did get a big time hit from sophomore short stop Ben Seay (Mooreville) as he doubled with the bases loaded to tie the contest at 3-3.

Seay would also give the Indians the lead as he scored during a double play. The Indians 4-3 lead would be short lived though as the Bobcats score five runs on four hits, a hit bats men and an error.

The Indians would push across three more run during the game, but Jones continually added to their lead to pick up the 12-7 win. Even though the Indians outhit the Bobcats, the tribe's pitching staff hit six batters during the game.

Drake Wallace (Amory) and Tyreque Reed (Houlka) both pick up solo home runs in the contest and Bryan Malone (Belmont) went an impressive 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored.
