FULTON, MS – Game two between Itawamba Community College and Snead State Community College was a shootout with the teams combining for 24 hits and 24 runs, but the hosting Indians emerged victorious 14-10.

The Indians (11-3) trailed after the first inning but took the lead in the second with one swing of the bat as Tyreque Reed (Houlka) blasted a three run home run to put the tribe up 4-2.

Run scoring singles by Austin Carpenter (Belmont) and Hagan Box (French Camp) extended the Indians' lead in the fourth and Reed scored on a sacrifice fly by Bryan Malone (Belmont) to put the Indians up 8-2.

In the top of the fifth, the Parsons would cut the lead to one, 8-7 after plating five run on three hits, one of which was a grand slam.

The Indians would quickly get four runs back in the bottom of the fifth as Box hit a RBI double and Carpenter crushed a three run home run.

A three run sixth would keep the Parsons in the contest but a Trevor Smith (Oneonta, AL) single in the sixth gave the Indians the 14-10 win.

Kaleb Barnes (Pontotoc) closed out the contest with a three up, three down inning to preserve the win for Steffon Moore (West Point).

The Indians will host Southwest Tennessee Community College Tuesday for their final doubleheader before conference play begins. First pitch at Roy Cresap Field is set for 2 pm.
