FULTON, MS – Sophomore first baseman Austin Carpenter (Belmont) signed to continue his baseball career at Blue Mountain College next season on Wednesday.

Carpenter currently leads the Indians with a .563 batting average, .600 on-base percentage, and 1.063 slugging-percentage. His nine hits, seven RBI, and two home runs also leads the team while being tied for a team-high two doubles.

As a freshman, he batted .426 with a .458 on-base percentage and .574 slugging-percentage. Carpenter had 29 hits with seven doubles and one home run while drawing four walks to drive in 22 runs and score 29 more in 68 at-bats.  

ICC is 4-2 on the season and will return the diamond on Saturday, February 25 against Lake Land College.

Carpenter joins his teammate Reid Carter (Houston) and former Indian Tyler Wheeler (Tupelo) on signing with the Toppers this season. Former Indian Jonas White (Lewisburg) is a pitcher at Blue Mountain this season.
