FULTON, MS - ICC dropped its first game of the season to Calhoun (AL) Community College, 7-3, on Saturday to end a four-game winning streak in the first game of the doubleheader.

The Indians (4-1) were unable to overcome four errors, which led to six unearned runs for the Warhawks (9-6).

Leading 3-2, the wheels came off for the Indians in the top of the sixth inning.

After collecting a quick out to start the inning, an pair of errors mixed with a couple of walks opened the door for a five-run inning highlighted by a three-run home run by Caleb Spears.

ICC only managed one hit over the next two innings in its first loss of the season.

The Indians picked up a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning when Russ Payne (Fulton) was hit by a pitch and scored when Drake Rowton (Marion, AR) reached on an error before scoring on a sac fly by Ty Wheeler (Tupelo).

The final run of the game for ICC came in the bottom of the fourth when Kaleb Barnes (Pontotoc) singled and scored on a single by Delvin Zinn (Pontotoc).

Blake Appel (Gulfport) was the pitcher of record for the Indians after in relief of Trenton Stringer (Stringer).

Appel gave up six runs, one earned, on three hits, two walks, and three errors in three innings of work. Stringer gave up one run, unearned, on five hits, one walk, and one error before being replaced in the fourth innings.

Zinn and Payne finished the game with a pair of singles to lead the Indians, who totalled eight hits in the loss.
