ELLISVILLE, MS – Freshman pitcher Trenton Stringer (Stringer) made the best of his homecoming by striking out seven in the Itawamba Community College's 6-5 game two win over No. 10 Jones County Junior College.
In a game that saw seven lead changes, the Indians (14-10, 8-8 MACJC) pulled ahead in the top of the sixth inning when Brayden Owen (Tupelo) lifted a sacrifice fly to push across Bryce Williams (Ridgeland) to give ICC a 5-4 lead before Timothy Rowe (Hernando) hammered a single to score Tanner Poole (Amory) for the eventual game-winning run.
Stringer went the distance to improve to 3-0 on the season after giving up five runs, three earned, on eight hits while striking out seven and not issuing a walk in the win.
Bryce Williams helped his batting average by going 3-for-3 with singles in the third, fourth, and sixth inning after going 2-for-3 at the dish in the first game of the day. Rowe pushed across three runs and scored another after going 3-for-4 to help the Indians earn a split with the nationally-ranked Bobcats before heading home for the Easter break.
