PERKINSTON, MS – The Itawamba Community College Indians jumped out to an early lead, but a big fourth inning gave Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College the 15-6 win and the sweep.

The Indians (6-6, 0-4 MACJC) trailed after the first inning, but a three run homer by sophomore Russ Johnson (Hatley) tied the game at 3. Tanner Poole (Amory) quickly broke the tie on his triple to left that plated Dalton Hudspeth (Louisville). Brayden Owen (Tupelo) would extend the Indians lead to 5-3 as he reached on an error allowing Poole to score. Hudspeth extended the Indians advantage to 6-3 in the third when he reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Hayden Williams (Amory).

Momentum appeared to be in favor of the Indians, but "big mo" quickly shifted to the other dugout as the Bulldogs plated seven runs in the fourth and piled on an additional five runs in the fifth.

The Indians were unable to overcome the deficit giving the Bulldogs the victory.

The Indians will travel to Booneville Tuesday for a pair against division rival Northeast. First pitch for game one is scheduled for noon.
