FULTON, MS – Freshman first baseman Andy Bowman signed to continue his baseball career with the Memphis Tigers on Thursday.

The Memphis native batted .341 with .482 slugging and .462 on-base percentage before a late-season shoulder injury sidelined Bowman for the remaining 11 games of the season.

"It means a lot to me to be able to sign with a team that's where I'm from," said Bowman. "I would always go to Memphis baseball games and now I get to play on the field that I grew up watching people play on is a really big honor."

Bowman had 29 hits with 6 going for doubles and 2 home runs to push across 13 runs in 85 at-bats. He also stole 2 bases while finishing the season with a .969 fielding percentage.

"Coming here to ICC was a big steppingstone for me in facing better pitching and getting more accustomed to the advanced level of talent on this level," said Bowman. "I feel like I am a lot better prepared for the DI level now than I was a year ago."

Bowman is the sixth Indian signing to continue his baseball career joining Mississippi Valley State signees Drew Wheeler (Mooreville) and CJ Hodges (Winona), Delta State signee Ethan Gill (Pontotoc), Arkansas-Monticello signee Ben Aldridge (Tupelo) along with Charlotte signee Luke Gibbs (Oxford).
