Late rally lifts Indians past Southwest Tennessee, 5-2

MILLINGTON, TN - Trailing 2-1, the Indians' bats heated up in the sixth inning to push across four runs to defeat Southwest Tennessee 5-2 at USA Stadium in Millington, TN on Tuesday.

Andy Bowman (Memphis, TN) drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game, 2-2, before Austin Welch (Hamilton) lifted a sac fly to push across Tanner Poole (Amory) before Drew Wheeler (Mooreville) scored on a passed ball and Bowman scored on a single to center by Ethan Gill (Pontotoc) to take a 5-2 lead in the sixth.

TJ Watson (Dallas, GA) kept the Southwest bats quiet over the next two innings striking out three and only allowing one hit to pick up the win in relief of Russ Johnson (Hatley).

Gill and Hayden Williams (Amory) went 2-for-3 as the Indians combined for seven hits in the win.
