GOODMAN, MS - The first game of the Indians' doubleheader against Holmes felt like a home game with the stands packed with family and friends of starting pitcher Brady Chambley from nearby Winona.

The freshman ace didn't disappoint his supporters as he dominated the Bulldogs' bats by striking out nine and only allowing two earned runs on seven hits and one walk in seven innings of work to help the Indians earn their first North Division win of the season, 6-4, on Tuesday.

The Indians (11-8, 1-2 MACJC North) got on the board in the top of the second when Hayden Williams (Amory) scored on a two-out single by Gable Butler (Tishomingo), but the Bulldogs (16-7, 1-4 MACJC North) answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game, 1-1.

Ethan Gill (Pontotoc) got things rolling for the Indians when he blasted a solo home run to start the fourth inning. Andy Bowman (Memphis, TN) singled and scored on a single by Butler before Williams singled and scored on a sac fly by Tanner Poole (Amory) to give the Indians a 4-1 lead.

Holmes answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, but the Indians got the runs back in the top of the fifth when Gill scorched a two-out double and scored when Bowman drilled a two-run home run off the top of the scoreboard in right to take a 6-3 lead into the sixth inning.

The Bulldogs got a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth, but Chambley would only surrender one hit to the next seven batters faced to help the Indians secure the two-run win.

Bowman, Butler and Austin Welch (Hamilton) went 2-for-3 as the Indians combined for nine hits in the win.
