37 ICC Student-Athletes earn NJCAA Academic Awards

FULTON, MS – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced that 37 Itawamba Community College student-athletes are recipients of NJCAA Academic Awards Wednesday.
Much like the on field awards, the NJCAA awards the student-athletes with with a first, second or third team honor. The junior college governing body determines which team the student-athlete is placed on based on grade point average (GPA).
A 4.0 GPA earns NJCAA First Team All-Academic while a 3.80-3.99 will earn NJCAA Second Team All-Academic. NJCAA Third Team All-Academic is award to student-athletes with a GPA of 3.60-3.79.
Of the 37 Indians earning NJCAA All-Academic, 18 were named First Team for their 4.0 GPA.
NJCAA First Team All-Academic recipients:
Women's Soccer: Hope Burton (Caledonia), Morgan Dennis (Saltillo), Karoline Jaggars (Saltillo), Kelsey McKnatt (Fulton), Brooke Wilson (Saltillo). Softball: Morgan Barrett (Smithville), Madison Carnes (Ecru), Cori Childs (New Site), Bre Harford (Southaven), Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston). Men's Soccer: Chase Huddleston (Tupelo), Bryce Hunt (Tupelo). Men's Tennis: Russell Applewhite (Amory), Chris Shands (New Albany). Women's Tennis: Jordan Roberts (Shannon). Women's Basketball: Lauren Fitch (Decatur, AL), Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc). Baseball: Ben Seay (Mooreville).

Men's Soccer: Thomas Blake (Fulton), Andrew Ford (Saltillo), Boston Hampton (Tupelo). Women's Soccer: Farris Bradley (Pontotoc). Women's Tennis: Karlin Garrett (Tupelo)

Women's Soccer: Ana Branch (Oxford), Emily Buster (Prattville, AL), Summer Jenson (Pontotoc), Shannon Sullivan (Fulton), Audrey Wilson (Pheba). Softball: Maura Jane Autry (Holly Springs), Alex Brown (Pontotoc), Regan Hubbard (Calhoun City), Grayson Wells (Greenwood). Women's Tennis: Bailey Gillentine (Mooreville), Charity Tedford (Pontotoc). Golf: Brandon Walker (Vardaman). Women's Basketball: Grace Elliott (New Site). Football: Preston Haynes (Horn Lake).
